Harold Pinter was one of the most influential modern British dramatists, winning the Nobel prize in 2005. Betrayal (1978) is one of his most famous works. This new adaptation cuts the text to its core, exploring alienation, isolation, and deception. The characters cannot escape the bare stage, stuck in their web of lies. We watch silently, eavesdropping on their secrets. The play leads us back in time, trying to reveal the truth – but we get lost in the way. It is a truly personal play that confronts the actors and the audience with their own flaws.
